2. Decide how what format you want your mini DV tapes converted onto – choose from Standard USB, Luxury USB, DVD or Cloud Album link.
3. The next day your Memory Box will arrive together with a helpful guides and a pre-paid postage label. Fill the box with your tapes and then we’ll arrange collection.
4. We use tracked delivery to ensure safety all the way to the EachMoment office.
5. Before converting the tape to digital, it is essential to deep clean Mini DV tapes using a two pass wet/dry method. ‘Cleaning tapes’, a common consumer-grade method of tape restoration, are available for Mini DVs, but are notoriously unreliable and can often damage tapes even further. At EachMoment, every single tape is assessed and cleaned manually on a case by case basis using bespoke tape cleaning methods and machinery.
6. We use broadcast quality mini DV players for playback and then convert to digital.
7. Once digitised, the digital file can now be edited to bring the digitised Mini DV tape up to modern standards. Colour correction is applied where necessary and contrast and saturation are adjusted accordingly. Mini DV audio levels are relatively low compared to modern consumer-grade recording methods. To improve audio levels, we use enhancement and loudness improvement to get sound clearer and up to modern standards.
8. Your recordings are transferred to your preferred storage option.
9. The VHS tapes are repackaged alongside your newly converted DVDs or USBs, if selected, and returned to your doorstep.
